Go out and buy it and help support vinyl and real bangin electro, non of that plinkety plonk minimal shit most other cunts are putting out these days :) Artist: Clone theory Title: Mismatched frequencies Label: Electrolab Format: 12” Cat no: Electrolab 004 Release date: June 2006 Side 1 (A1) Ground assault (A2) Others Side 2 (B1) Proton (B2) Splicer Clone theory (A.C.Hill and D.Froud) raid four tracks from their vault. Recorded in the analogue past, they sound truly futuristic flavoured old school. Massive rich bass darkness, strong electro breaks and warm analogue textures right through. “Ground assault” shudders with a violent bassline and driving beats with it’s string hooks. “Others” builds from it’s traditional sounding intro of stark, driving beats and layers of searing string lines as the drums gradually descend into deep distortion! “Proton” (the second track Clone theory wrote together) fuses distorted drums, twisted bass tones with sinister pads and textures. “Splicer” starts with off with it’s synth line, cutting beats and evolving atmospheres which then give way to pounding 4/4 drums as the track develops. All tracks written and recorded by A.C.Hill and D.Froud. Vocals performed by Kaori Satu.
